knot-dnsutils software package provides Clients provided with Knot DNS (kdig, knslookup, knsupdate), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install knot-dnsutils
knot-dnsutils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the knot-dnsutils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep knot-dnsutils *
You will get with knot-dnsutils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
